The Panel Beater will be responsible for assessing and repairing damage to cars and trucks, and repaints. The duties will include checking vehicles for exterior or frame damage, carrying out any necessary repairs to restore the vehicle’s condition, and mending scratches, dents and other damage to the paintwork.
Role and Responsibilities
- Install and assemble machinery and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment and calibration of machines to meet production requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to identify and address issues promptly.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure that all assembled components meet the required standards.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while performing job duties.
- Promote a culture of safety within the team and report any safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of machine installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Provide detailed reports on work performed and make recommendations for improvements.
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in machining with Lathes and Milling machines to tight tolerances and finishes
- Understanding engineering drawings.
- Competent in using precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding limits and fits.
- Use of correct machine tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or Certification in mechanical fitting or a related field.
